Current State of Affairs in Haiti

For those of you who are following crises around the world and keeping an eye on societal decay, Haiti (March 2024) is now illustrating what can and will happen when social order collapses. Gangs have now seized the airport being as well-armed as the police and military and it seems everyone can become, and is likely to be a target for one side or the other.

I am certainly not going to get into the historical antecedents leading up to the horror that is now taking place across the country. I am just bringing into focus that no country is immune from extreme civil unrest, and I expect that within the next year or two, the U.S. and many countries in Europe will erupt in flames.

There are action plans to take in order to be prepared for what can take place in your country, city, community. Stan's guides are essential resources that will enable you to be prepared so that you can do your best to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Welcome to Canada

I grew up in Canada and lived abroad in South Korea for eighteen years. I've travelled extensively with my camera gear by my side and in 2016 returned to Canada expecting to live once again in the Canada that I grew up in. For many reasons, the country has changed and not for the better. The lower east side in Vancouver is now a threatening place to walk through with the number of homeless growing week by week. However, this is not isolated to Vancouver and many urban areas across the country are home to drug gangs - with their weapons.

The photo that I've posted here was taken during the peaceful trucker's convoy from across Canada to Ottawa. There was no violence just a lot of horn honking. The government invoked the Emergency Measures Act, which was later deemed to have been a violation of civil rights by the Federal Court and the Liberal government is going to appeal this ruling!

As the urban squalor spreads, peaceful protestors truckers and their supporters were arrested and bank accounts frozen for those who supported truckers in this convoy.

I cannot see a good outcome down the road, so it's essential to be prepared for yourself, friends, and loved ones.

Yes, with the mass migration ( invasion)by various groups it will be bumpy as a person put it.

Not sure when.

Not sure how far it will go.

Definitely not the place I grew up.
