How be prepared for uncivil situations

by Jim
(West Coast USA )

Hi Stan and forum.

Someone I know today had scary encounter at a local gym.

The disagreement about dropping stuff on bench he was about sit on.

Very close to fist fight.

WOW 😳, USA is really changed as to people and the types of woke people around...

I'm thinking 🤔 there are no more places to just go to.... Even that has changed to less quality.

So what to do?

As for protection what can we do Stan?

Seems we have to stay, and make a stand where we are at.

I'd prefer a physical weapon as I'm in my 60s BUT what else can older folks do or less physical folks do???

Always looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thank you for your comments Cam. Yes "avoidance" is a huge factor to our safety.

Prudent Advice
by: Cameron

Hi Stan,

That's prudent advice that you have just passed on to one of your subscribers. It's very easy to instantly 'react' to a threatening situation that can easily escalate into violence where the outcome can be disastrous for one or both individuals. If you're protecting a loved one, it's easy to make a decision to do your best to protect that person, but in a situation where you are not physically attacked, walking away is most likely the safest move where'll you get to live another day.

The rest of your advice of keeping a low profile is also something to always keep in mind and especially in a world where so many people seem to 'be on edge'.

Thanks for your comments and questions Jim. Here is my main answer: AVOIDANCE.

Never get mad at anyone and do not engage in any arguments with anyone.

First off, do not go to any gyms anymore. You can find good ways to work out at home or in a park.

Blend in with the crowd. Do not stand out in any way. Wear what the majority of people are wearing. Do not wear caps or t-shirts with any messages on them.

Do not take up any political causes. Keep your thoughts to yourself or close and trusted friends.

Prepare for blackouts. Prepare for civil unrest. Stay away from crowds. Build your food supply. Look for alternative energy sources.

Do not go out with a cell phone in plain view. Disable your phone's GPS feature. If a call comes in, take it in a hidden place.

Learn how to forage for edible plants, fruits and nuts.

Learn the Ninja lifestyle for moving about quietly and discreetly. Be invisible in plain sight.

Sounds kike "over the top" advice? Sadly, it is not.
